In 1947, near the small farming town of Roswell, New Mexico , a local
farmer discovered the "wreckage" of what appeared to be some sort of
flying craft ...he took the wreckage to the sheriff, who took it to the army, who took it away and -some say - replaced it with wreckage from a high altitude weather balloon. ...
These would seem to be the only 'facts' in this story ..which has developed into a saga so complex and bizarre that it supports an entire industry in the "UFO capital of the US".
Whether it was a UFO , whether it contained an alien or two, and what it means are all questions still being debated here.
The UFO museum documented every twist and turn in the story in some
considerable detail ...it also contained some utterly mad stuff.
