Our computer has been infected with a horrible virus posing as a virus detector. Blogging will resume when we have our computer back.
In the meantime... post us some comments! We want to hear from any readers. Nicole - are you still there???
It is Thanksgiving week here. The kids have the week off school, and I have no class this week.
We decided against the mammoth 16 hour drive up to Oregon - the kids have pretty much had enough of sitting in the car, and the NZ dollar has dropped to US $.54, doubling all costs.
The Christmas build-up has begun; shopping catalogues are pouring in, everyone is talking of the 'holiday season', the next door-neighbours have erected a flashing light display of a large polar bear with a waving paw, and three small waving penguins on their roof. Santa Claus is lit up by their front door, and their curbside tree and garage are garlanded with flashing lights.
But apparently the real Xmas action begins on 'Black Friday' - the day after Thanksgiving, when all the sales start. All eyes are on on the figures for Black Friday, to determine how bad the US recession really is. We truly want to help the US economy, and may, out of pure charity, pop into the odd sale. Any special requests - particularly for really light things? We are worried about the weight of our cases...
