The town of Julian lies sixty miles or so from San Diego, on the edge of the Anza Borrego Desert, in the Cuyamaca"mountains". We picked it out at random really, figuring a Sunday excursion up there would be fun.
Its apple orchard country, and today was one of their 'apple days'.
The place was crowded with apple fanatics from across Southern California, many willing to queue for forty minutes for the famous local apple pies.
Real estate seems reasonable...
We stopped in briefly at the slightly underwhelming "Oktoberfest" ..the major letdown...no beer. This clip is mad, and loud...
In case you are wondering: Bridget stayed home to read the Odyssey... yes, that one.
"She's been waiting twenty years
And you just walk in
Telling stories of the sea
She should hate you
Your Penelope"
(Circumspect Penelope. LBGP)
Well, we took the long way home, into the setting sun ...just like
Odysseus we suppose..
